Our Work

Strategy and Direction

We design and lead strategy processes for organisations and networks that need to revisit their direction when existing approaches no longer fit their reality. This work supports leaders to clarify purpose, priorities, and longer-term direction by making sense of complexity together and identifying meaningful choices - surfacing assumptions, tensions, and trade-offs that are often present but unspoken. A central part of the work is generating shared insight: helping groups see patterns, articulate what matters, and develop a shared understanding to act with greater coherence.

The work typically involves facilitated strategy processes, retreats, and learning journeys with leadership teams, boards, or broader groups. Drawing on systems thinking, futures practice, and human systems dynamics, these processes support exploration of different pathways, testing of choices, and articulation of direction that can be carried forward across roles, teams, and partners. Where helpful, this includes synthesizing and communicating insights so that complex thinking can inform confident decision-making, alignment, and wider conversations over time.

Innovation and Systems Change

We design and facilitate innovation and change processes in contexts where progress is shaped by complexity, multiple stakeholders, and institutional limits. The work approaches innovation through portfolio and ecosystem perspectives, recognizing constraints, power dynamics, and institutional limits. It helps organisations see how initiatives, actors, and incentives interact rather than treating innovation as a series of isolated projects.

This includes designing participatory innovation processes, learning loops, and reflective spaces that support experimentation, sensemaking, and adaptation over time. The focus is on strengthening an organization’s ability to work with system dynamics and uncertainty, rather than pursuing one-off solutions. This is particularly relevant in contexts where innovation is tied to public value, social outcomes, or long-term missions rather than market growth alone.

Leadership Development and Coaching

We coach leaders and collectives working on change in complex, uncertain contexts — often while navigating transition, pressure, and competing demands. This includes leaders whose work depends on enabling others, holding difficult tensions, and keeping collective effort moving when there are no simple answers or clear paths forward.

The coaching creates reflective space to pause, think clearly, and work with what is actually emerging and shaping their leadership. Drawing on transformative coaching and systems-informed practice, the work focuses on strengthening individual and collective agency and opening up new ways of engaging with challenge, responsibility, and change without defaulting to individual heroics or burnout. It supports leadership that can stay present, deliberate, and capable under sustained pressure, particularly in non-profit, civic, and social-change contexts.

Learning and Education Design

We design learning spaces, programmes, and fellowships that support systemic leadership and collective capacity in contexts where learning needs to be closely connected to real-world challenges. This includes work across alternative education environments, youth-focused programmes, and professional learning settings, where participants actively and experientially build capabilities to engage with complexity.

The work brings together curriculum design, facilitation, and reflective practice to create learning experiences that help people think systemically, work across difference, and apply learning directly to their roles and contexts. These programmes are designed to support sustained learning over time, rather than one-off training, and to strengthen the capacity of individuals and ecosystems to navigate change collectively.

Collective Sensemaking
and Facilitation

We design and lead workshops and collective processes for groups who need to think clearly together about complex or wicked issues. This work is often used when conversations are stuck, perspectives are fragmented, or when existing ways of framing a situation no longer offer viable paths forward.

The work creates space for groups to step back from habitual positions, make sense of what is unfolding, and explore multiple ways forward. Drawing on systems-informed and future-oriented approaches, it supports collective wisdom, shared understanding, and the ability to reimagine options rather than defaulting to the familiar. These processes are designed to help groups move forward with greater coherence in situations that resist simple answers.

Selected Work

  • Leadership coaching and advisory for network leaders within the BOPA–DiPeO Fellowship, that are navigating responsibility, influence, and complexity across diverse civic and social-change environments.

  • Clarifying long-term positioning, institutional role and new guiding principles for Kaospilot (alternative entrepreneurship education) in response to shifting educational, societal, and economic conditions.

  • Programme design and facilitation of futures workshops and collective processes within Open Society Foundations, informing long-term strategic thinking, opportunity identification (e.g. Kenya, Senegal), and global innovation portfolio development, carried out through work with School of International Futures.

  • Design of fellowship learning journey for Ignite Philanthropy’s SPROUT programme, supporting leadership development, collective learning, and nurturing the next generation of system leaders dedicated to children's well-being and safety - delivered as part of work with School of International Futures.

  • Foundational strategy support to board of Axjoma Foundation - a newly established foundation - including the development of strategic pillars, vision, mission, and values, and clarifying the foundation’s role within a broader cultural and societal landscape.
